Teacher Grant
Teachers who participated in an FHC Teacher Center program within the past two years of the grant deadline and who are currently teaching in a Florida school are eligible to apply.
Proposed projects must focus on the subject matter of the FHC Teacher Center seminar the applicant attended, and projects must be completed by the end of the school year.
While projects may cover a broad range of disciplines, formats, and grade levels, FHC encourages projects that:
- actively and centrally engage humanities scholars
- are based in a discipline of the humanities and employ the methods of the humanities including
critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation
- engage multiple teachers and/or classrooms
- use a cross-disciplinary approach
Budget items may include honoraria and travel for humanities scholars (academic scholar, chautauqua presenter, or author), texts, films, or other classroom resources. Budgets may not include refreshments, equipment purchases, or compensation for the teacher.
- Award recipients will be notified by October 15
- Projects must be completed by end of school year
- An evaluation is required within 30 days following completion of the project
