"Palestinian Judaism in the First Century: Understanding the Semitic Mind of Jesus?"

Early Christianity was birthed and nurtured as a movement within Judaism. Jesus was Jewish, all of his earliest followers were Jewish, and the scriptures of Jesus and his followers were the Jewish Scriptures. Thus, a clearer picture of first-century Judaism will lead to a better comprehension of both Jesus and the New Testament writings.
This lecture led by Dr. Mitchell Reddish, Stetson University will focus on the institutions, groups, and practices of first-century Palestinian Judaism as a way of understanding the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the four gospels in the New Testament.
