Florida: Choosing the Future DVD

How can Florida thrive in the 21st century? Can it improve education, spark business development, boost citizen involvement? A dozen high-profile leaders from around the state discuss these questions and more in “Florida: Choosing the Future,” a one-hour program produced by FHC in partnership with WEDU-TV, the Askew Institute and Fred Friendly Seminars.  In a spirited give-and-take, panelists, including former Gov. Bob Graham, find that there are no easy answers.

Imagining A New Florida DVD

What will Florida look like in 2030? More importantly, what will it live like? Architects, planners, civic leaders, historians and plain folks look at the consequences of a half-century of sprawl development and explore how Floridians can create a sense of community and chart a new path of sustainable growth. This one-hour documentary was produced by the Florida Humanities Council and WPBT2-Miami.

Florida Dream Documentary DVD

Florida’s dramatic transformation since World War II—from a sparsely populated, southern backwater to today’s multicultural megastate—is featured in this colorful, compelling one-hour documentary. Produced by FHC and WEDU-TV of West Central Florida, “The Florida Dream” traces the great social, cultural, and economic forces that drove Florida’s rapid growth and change. Narrated by actor Ed Asner, this program was inspired by the book Land of Sunshine, State of Dreams: A Social History of Modern Florida, by Gary Mormino.
